The GCNKAA Education department promotes industry professionalism through programs designed for all apartment personnel. Designation programs demand intensive training and cover all aspects of rental property management. Over the years, the GCNKAA has trained hundreds of individuals in the rental housing industry.

We also offer several other educational seminars throughout the year that provide information on everything from leasing and marketing to fair housing. These seminars allow for Real Estate Credits and Continuing Education Credits for NAA Designations.  Speakers range from national speakers to local specialists to governmental officials. Fair Housing Ain't Fair - It's EQUAL:  Join Doug Chasick, from CallSource, as he reveals the truth about fair housing - what it really is and what it isn't!  Next, we'll identify fair housing protected classes and how to manage our words and actions so that you and your team are "Fair Housing Friendly"; learn how to implement industry best practices to compley with the fair housing laws and review how to effectively interact with your customers to avoid the most common fair housing pitfalls.

• Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS)- Nationally recognized designation for multi-site supervisors and experienced apartment managers.
• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT)
• Rental Owners Course (ROC) – Covers the fundamentals of property management for Independent Owners.
• Do it Yourself (DIY) – The DIY Series is a series of courses geared towards the independent owners who have to do all the aspects of property management themselves.
  
• HVAC Certification - This certification is required by the EPA to handle refrigerant.

Fair Housing and Beyond

The National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) and The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) join forces to enhance fair housing education among rental housing providers.

NAAEI and IREM have partnered to develop this coursework and education initiative.  NAAEI represents the education and career development division of NAA, while IREM serves as a professional association for managers of Income-producing properties worldwide.  The "Fair Housing and Beyond" seminar can be taken as a classroom-delivered course (4.5 hours) offered at a local apartment assocation or in the new online format (self paced).
