Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT)
Maintenance expenses are the single largest controllable element in any operating budget. This course is designed as an introduction for new maintenance professionals or as a refresher for the veteran employee, to give these professionals the knowledge and tools necessary to run an effective maintenance program.
CAMT Program includes a combination of online and hands-on classroom training: The non-technical course A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Technician consists of a series of modules to provide soft skills training in such areas as Welcome to the Industry; Customer Service; Teamwork; Time and Project Management; Money Matters; Documentation and Paperwork; Maintenance and Emergencies; Safety First; and Compliance. Six technical courses (see below) consist of hands-on classroom training followed by online practice scenarios. Finally, four FranklinCovey Insights on Demand online courses cover soft skills including teamwork; handling difficult situations; and how maintenance staff can create resident loyalty through listening, communication and one successfully completed work order.

A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Technician
The technical courses may be taken as stand alone seminars or in full to earn the industry designation. To complete the full series to earn the industry designation, the online soft skills training, the four FranklinCovey Insights on Demand online courses and a comprehensive exam must be completed. The designation series, online courses, and comprehensive exam must be completed within six months of declaring candidacy.
