CLERMONT COUNTY RESIDENTS AND OWNERS: EMERGENCY PROGRAM HELPS CLERMONT COUNTY RESIDENTS WITH RENT, UTILITIES
BATAVIA, OH (Feb. 10, 2021) — Clermont County residents who have fallen behind on rent and utility payments (except telephone, cable and Internet) due to the pandemic can get financial help through a new program. The Board of County Commissioners today approved a Clermont County Job and Family Services’ contact with Clermont County Community Services to administer the Emergency Rental Assistance Fund. Clermont County received $6.1 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds for renters through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. This program covers rental payments that are late and overdue as well as utility payments, including gas, electric, fuel oil, trash removal, and water and sewer. Telecommunication services (telephone, cable and internet) are not eligible expenses.
Applicants must have filed their taxes this year, as their 1040 will be used to verify income eligibility. They must have been unemployed due to COVID-19 or experienced a reduction in income due to the pandemic. Eligible renter households may receive up to 12 months of past due payment assistance with direct payments made to the landlords and utility providers. Landlords may apply on behalf of the renter with their consent. Funding expires on Dec. 31.

“Thank you to the county employees who worked diligently on the specifics of this program,” said Claire Corcoran, president of the Board of County Commissioners. “This funding will not only benefit renters who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but also the landlords who have been impacted by the loss of income.”
Commissioner David Painter said: “This will bring much-needed relief to many families. Additionally, this will help avoid future eviction filings that would have otherwise overwhelmed our local courts.”
“I’m glad we were able to help those struggling to make ends meet due to the pandemic,” Commissioner Bonnie Batchler added.
GRANT FUNDING FOR RESIDENTS AND PROPERTIES
The amount of resources available for residents struggling to pay rent due to Covid-19 has increased in Hamilton County, OH to $5,000 per Household. The documents necessary to apply for both the resident and property owner are attached and also available on the GCNKAA website under Covid-19 resources. Please share the applications and the quoted instructions below with residents in need!
Applicants should fill out the application in the pdf, save it, and send it back to Jessica.Wilcher@jfs.ohio.gov. Please attach pay documentation (pay stubs/unemployment form/etc), rent statement/utility statement showing amount owed, and if applicable name on account and account number. The landlords should also fill out vendor forms and fax them to 513-946-7270. The vendor forms are attached for convenience. Ms Wilcher disburses those between herself and a second employee (Amber Hill). This is first priority work for these two employees and it typically moves very quickly. Once approved/ denied the applicant is sent an email with the decision. Invoices along with the approval letter get sent to Brandy Scott Herrmann for payment to be received.

ONE STOP EVICTION HELP CENTER UNVEILED AS CASES RESUME IN HAMILTON COUNTY

As evictions resume Monday in Hamilton County for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic halter them nearly three months ago, a "one-stop" center to help keep people in their homes is being unveiled.
The Eviction Help Center is located directly across from the Hamilton County Municipal Court room that will hold eviction hearings at the justice center, according to the release. Both landlords and tenants who visit the Help Center can receive legal resources and information about emergency rental assistance.
St. Vincent de Paul and the Community Action Agency will help administer funds to those in need.

Please be advised, due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Department of Buildings and Inspections (B&I) has made several changes to our service delivery model.
Effective Monday, March 23, our lobby has been closed and the public will have limited access to the Permit Center. In an effort to protect the public and continue to offer essential services to the public, we have moved a majority of building permit plan submissions to an electronic platform. In addition, we will be triaging non-emergency complaints via phone. The inspector will contact the complainant via the phone to discuss the issue and the inspector will request photos of the complaint. Once the complaint is verified by the photos, the inspector will contact the property owner to discuss the issue(s). If the owner acknowledges the issue and submits a workplan, the inspector will monitor the issues via the approved workplan. Once the owner has identified that the issue has been resolved and photos have been submitted and verified, the case will be closed.
If an inspection is required, the inspector will schedule the inspection with the owner or occupant. They will also ask if anyone is displaying any symptoms outlined by the CDC. When the inspector arrives they will be wearing gloves and will ask to maintain at least a 6ft distance during the inspection.

Drive-thru COVID-19 testing up and running in Kenton County

232 cases of COVID-19 identified in Northern Kentucky
